BiKINI BOOTCAMPERS ~~~ Thursday

Good morning lovely ladies.

Pam you are in our thoughts today. I am confident all will go well with the surgery and you will recover quickly

Just wanted to get the thread up and started. Must leave you for a moment to put my naughty DD in time out. AHHHHHHHH!

I was thinking of Pam early this morning, when I couldn't sleep....hugs and prayers, dear PAM!!!!!!!!!!

Quickie post, busy morning.....7 miles, 5 at 8:27 and feeling good. I was short on time so cut out the abs/core, but may add them in later today along with a much-needed stretch!

On with the day, sorry to hit and run again!

Keep on truckin', mama!

Gayle

Okay, she's in time out now yelling "Mommy! Big girls don't cry!!!!!" Kinda cracking me up, I don't know where she got it from. She got mad while we were playing Go Fish and had a little melt down. Wicked fun.

So. I've been thinking about the whole healthy diet thing. I find it so interesting that I have absolutely NO problem staying vegetarian (a meatless DIET), but I do have a tough time skipping the animal crackers which are not healthy for me and not in line with my goals. Hmmm.

M1 - oats and pp with a few berries and flax.

Morning Gayle, enjoy your stretch, great time on the 5, you're a quickie

I've been making my own greek yogurt, just by straining regular yogs overnight...is there anything you can do with the whey that drains out of the yogurt. I imagine it must be protein rich, seems bad to waste it, especially since I struggle to get all my protein in some days....

I let Bunny out of time out, she said she was sorry and hugged me. Then I asked her to pick up all the Go Fish cards which are all over the floor...she took one look at me, said "NO" and climbed herself back into the time out chair (which of course made me chuckle - quietly to myself.) So now she's in the time out chair singing her ABC's. I guess she's gonna hang out there until she feels like picking up the cards, funny kid!

Oh wait, she just yelled "Sorry!!" I said "are you ready to pick up the cards?" she said "yes....but mommy you need to come close to me so I can say sorry." Could I possibly lover her any more?

Oh Elle that all sounds so familiar!!! You just have to laugh. It is soooo hard some days, isn't it? Be sure and write down some of this so you show it to her someday and have a good laugh

Hi Gayle! Great workout!

Elle I can't remember; did you do boxing last night or the night before? I'm in my usual fog.

I have to go back to the dentist this morning' to get the permanent crown on a tooth that had cracked. Not looking forward to it. Two weeks ago when I went I had the migraine, it took 2 hours, and I shook about 30 minutes of that time I was so nervous. I had a bruise on my jaw for a week from the dentist trying to hold my face still while he drilled. THAT'S what a nervous person I am. I even had taken a muscle relaxer before the appt. Today I am just going to tell him to knock me over the head first.

I will check in later.

GOOD LUCK PAM!!! Thinking of you!!!!!!!

Hoo boy. Glad I'm not Pam or Hula today. Good luck to both of you!

Elle-I swear she's going to be the death of you when she turns 15. She is a cutie.

Gayle-Excellent job!

Today was:

400m run 50 push ups

400m run 50 situps

400m run 50 lunge steps

400m run 50 DU's

Except that my stinkin' jump rope snapped in half at about DU #37, so I added another 400m run to the end. Time was 17:14. Then did some HSPUs and came home to work on muscle ups. It's finally warm and dry enough to get me out there. Uh, I'm so far away from a muscle up it's not even funny.

Good Morning ladies!!

Pam you are in my thoughts and prayers today as well!!

Elle love her while you can because the teenage years change everything...You'll still love her, but you may not always like her

Gayle I truly admire your ability to run so well.

Hula I don't like the dentist either, it jacks me up in all sorts of nervous.

Really good lower body for me this morning.

Squats: 5 sets 12 reps at 135# superset with 30 jumps of the weighted jump rope

Leg Ext: 4 sets 21 reps toes in, toes out & straight 85#

Seated Leg Curl: 4 sets 25 reps 115#

Walking lunges: 4 sets 15 reps no weight

I promise to be nice today...

Good God Carol and I thought my workout was tough!!

Nice job!!

Anyone that needs an intensity boost, just pick up a jump rope, it changes everything.

Michelle-Are you feeling better today? I thought maybe you'd take a rest day, but if you woke up feeling it then good for you!

Hula-I do write them all down so I can see what time I need to beat or what weights I need to improve on.

I am so incredibly full of energy today. It's weird.

Great workouts Carol and Michelle!

Just got off the phone with my stepmother, she said Lils is just like me (she's known me since I was 4 or 5.) I also told her that I'm boxing and she laughed and said "I can so see you doing that Sheli, it's so you. It's funny how our personalities stay with us our whole lives..."

Anyway, boxing last night was fun and really hard. The intervals on the punching bag kick your butt. It doesn't seem like it should be so hard, but punching as hard and as fast as you can from 30 secs up to 2 mins at a time is tiring. I really, really enjoy it.

My stepson is arriving tonight, which I am excited about. He is the sweetest 13 yo you'll ever meet. One thing though, he eats crap food. So this week will be a challenge for me to stay on the straight and narrow. I just need to get my head in the right frame of mind and nothing will be able to stop me!!

Adore you wild and precious women!

Good morning, beauties.

Pam - definitely thinking of you today and hoping everything goes smoothly and that you get some really good pain pills.

Hula - you too! Dang, definitely have them put you under this time. That is not worth the stress to your system or to the dentist's system. Plus we don't want him missing with that drill. Glad your boys woke up on the right sides of the bed today. Have a good day, if that's possible after your dentist visit.

Carbar - I'm thinking of you today, because I read in our paper that the South Central Sectionals to qualify for the CF games are this weekend here in Tulsa! It's 30 bucks to go watch, though. It would be cool to go see it in person. Especially if I knew someone. And WTF on the jump rope snapping? Don't you have one of those super elite ones? That's just wrong. But glad you are so full of energy, and are having a good day.

Ellie-bo-bellie-silly-billy - LOVE your L stories. Love them, because I can just picture the whole thing in my head and it's so stinking cute. She is definitely going to be a handful (no wait, not going to be, already is!) Glad boxing was fun and hard, and that you enjoy it. That has to help with the stress level. And give that 13 yo some healthy food. Tell him you don't do crap food.

Morning Michelle (or should I call you the statue today?) Glad your day is starting out better, I really hope it stays that way. And I still meant the whole pushup thing, even if you are doing them on your knees. But if you can do 200 on your knees, you can SOOOO do about 50 on your toes. Lenny's right.

Gayle - I also admire your ability to run. Have a good, busy day today.

Well I am so excited today. I FINALLY broke 200 pounds. FINALLY!!!!!!! My weight's been fluctuating a lot this week so it may just be temporary, but I'll take it. WOOO HOOOO.

Other than that - boring work day, and getting my roots de-grayed today. IF the STBXH gets back from out of town and can commit to picking up the boy this afternoon. Hoping that will happen.

Alli - I had a dream about you last night, can't remember it all but there was a visit with you and your H in there. You are definitely on my mind.

Beth-That is fantastic! I'm so proud of you. For real. The SoCal Sectionals are this weekend, too. CFO peeps are FB'ing about nerves, but I'm sure they'll do fine. After looking at the WODs, though, I'm glad it's them and not me!

Elle-Glad you got to box and I'm sure it's a great workout. But I still can't figure out how you box with a bum ankle. Isn't there a lot of foot work going on? How's the ankle feeling anyway?

Ok. I think I found a good height for the rings to work on these MU's. Not too low, but low enough that I can actually do the transition part (with band of course) and push up into the final position. They're actually a lot of fun to work on.

WTG, B'lini!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome, just keep at it and the fluctuating will CEASE!

Elle, I strain my own yogurt too, and ALWAYS think it's such a waste to toss that whey out. Maybe I'll do a search when I get home from school and see if I come up with any ideas.....do you have ANY idea how straining it this way changes the protein/carb/cal numbers???

Sorry, that's it for personals....school and the kiddos are calling!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morning ladies!

I'm back from taking the kids to gymnastics, not off to the gym for LBWO and cardio.

Carol - I do the footwork, just as stepping instead of bouncing....which is challenging, half the time last night my coach was yelling at me to stop bouncing.

Uh oh Kimberley. Hope the back isn't too bad. Baby it. You don't want to make it any worse.

Julie-This is an amazing team full of inspirational members. Glad you've joined us!

Cherie-Curious to how last night went with N.

Today was another IF day. Very interesting. It was easier than Tuesday and I was truly bouncing off the walls with energy.Just getting ready to sit down and eat my dinner which is a huge salad w/ a ton of veggies, a cup of homemade (YES!!! You heard me!) tomato basil soup and some baked, seasoned turkey breast. I'll do this again next Tuesday and Thursday and see how I feel and if I'm able to break this weight plateau. I'm certainly not advocating this just reporting in case any of you are interested.

Beth, I was about to say the same thing -- you carry your weight very well. The other thing about that is that you will want to think carefully about a goal weight - I wouldn't let that be my biggest concern b/c you could get discouraged by the wt being higher than you think it should be, but your measurements & bf% will be fine. rambling... But CONGRATS!! That's really exciting!!

Elle, I was wondering the same thing about homemade Greek yogurt. You could use it for pancakes, I'm sure, or bread, but I don't know the nutr info. Bunny is priceless!

Gayle, fantastic time on your run!! I'm trying not to be jealous There, I'm not, I'm just happy for you!

Hula, I hope your appt went well! Yikes-a-malooney! When Carole moved here, she called around to find a dentist who would do laughing gas for cleanings!

Carol, I'm not really sold on your definition of fun either. Except that we've spent enough time together for me to know that you DO know how to have fun I'm glad that you're so full of energy today!! I was wondering where mine went to...

Michelle, holy smokes, great w/o!! I am so impressed that you have continued with your healthy way of life AFTER winning the challenge. A lot of people would bag it b/c there wasn't as much to look forward to anymore.

Cherie, I'm SO happy about your lack of headaches!!! Great job on the w/o today

Alli, that's how I've felt the last few days!! Don't sweat it

Kimberley, I will try to get the back photo done today. I just have to work on DH's computer to do that, mine is too slow & old (hmm, sounds familiar) for Photoshop.

Oh, I see Susan's back Hope you've eaten & rested!

And Carol -- one of the reasons I was so excited to meet you (was that a year ago now?) was b/c you were so encouraging to my sis. Now you're so great to my little girl Love you.

Gonna go work on the pic

Oh, I did a BFL LBWO yesterday and had a killer Free Meal for DS's birthday He's 26 today.

Oh, and I ran 7.25 today No prob's at all with the ankle, I tape it for support and I watch carefully for rocks or uneven pavement. But I'm a happy girl!

Jeanne Thank you for the compliment and I will let all of my BB sisters know this...

I didn't set out with the goal of winning a BFL Challenge but I did enter and it couldn't have come at a better time. I have a SAXH (sorry @ssed ex-husband) that will leave my youngest sons college tuition up to me and that's what the winnings from BFL will be used for, his first semester housing and books.

I'm lucky that my future isn't tied to fitness as a career so I don't feel a need to promote myself for future business interests.

I set out with personal goals and BFL was my tool to acheive those goals. I'm still not to the fitness level that I desire and where's the fun in slacking

I will also say to anyone lurking or reading this. BFL is a great tool and it works but do your first 12 weeks by the book. Once you do that you've developed a level of discipline that can move to other things.

The hardest part about anything is becomming stagnant and refusing to make changes because it's some how against the rules. There is no BFL gate keeper and you have to do what's best for you to succeed.

So, Elle, do tell what you're SUPPOSEDLY HUNGRY for. What is it your head is telling you you THINK you want or need? I find, that if I TELL somebody what my nutso head is telling me, it passes.

Keep on truckin', mama!

I gotta share a funny with you ladies. Yesterday I had possibly the worst day in over a year. I was very emotional, ate crap for dinner and just was very off my game. This morning I was on a mission to escape my emotional demons in the gym. I listed my workout above.

As the day wears on, I'm getting more and more sore on the inside of my upper thighs.

I just went to the potty and holy crap, I remembered that I also did 5 sets of 15 reps of sumo squats while holding a 35lb dumb bell.

No wonder!! I am going to be hurtin' for certain on Saturday!!

Going to read Jules reply...

You are all so good to me.

Gayle, I'm not sure what I'm hungry for. I just have a lot on my plate right now and I'm feeling overwhelmed. I was hoping it was PMS, but I have that to look forward to next week I'll think about the "real" answer to this.

Committed - yes. Today I did 4 sets of 30 plie squats with 30# dumbell. OUCHIES. I had a good sweaty 30 mins of cardio too. I'm glad you're hurtin for certain from the workout and not from your emotional demons. I can definitely relate to that, but for me running OUTSIDE is what really helps. Some days I'm chasing the demons, sometimes I'm leaving them in the dust, sometimes they're chasing me...but I often feel very close to my emotions - the most fragile ones - when I'm running. I can't run right now, so I guess I need to find a substitute.

Thanks for being a sounding board chickies. I know I need to fake it till I make it and get my game face on. I need to go lookin' for some inspiration, b/c at the moment it's not knocking at my door...hmmm. Maybe I need a new vision board project?!?!

<3 yas!

Envision kicking Frisco's A$$ that's some motivation.

I sent you the toddler pic a little while ago. You will bounce back Elle, you always do, just a blip on the radar.

Elle...this too shall pass.

You may have to write some things down to get to the bottom of it, but don't spin your wheels for too many days eating too off track. That just makes our emotions that much worse.

I love Carol's idea of a computer vision board.

Hang in there BB's we're gonna kick some butt!!

Oh YEAH we are.

And thank you all for the very very kind words, but "I carry my weight well" has never really been a positive for me. It's almost like the "but you have such a pretty face" thing I heard from my mom over the many years I've been overweight. I'm using that as fuel to not HAVE to carry my weight well. To not have to carry it at all. To ROCK a new bod with confidence and grace. (Okay the grace thing will be a stretch cuz I'm such a klutz...).

GO TEAM GO. We are awesome and powerful.
