Morning team! Val is slacking so I guess I will kick this off. Feeling pretty good today despite taking my measurements last night, UGH! Actually it made everything much more real, I can't believe how bad I have let my body get. Kicked off today with a little spin class which was sweet. Plan on a LBWO at lunch and then finish the day stong with clean eats! Is everyone ready for the long weekend? Any fun fitness plans?

I'm not slack!  After yesterday I was just wondering if me starting the thread was jinxing it, LOL.

Did elliptical this morning with the resistance set to 10.  I'm going to try 5 next time as once again I felt I was limited more by my leg muscles than my cardiovascular system.

Today is a long work day for me (I'll almost certainly be here past midnight).  I packed all my meals so I really have no choice but to eat clean.  Coffee, on the other hand...

val what do you do that you are working so late?? good job on the elipticalling this morning!

as for me eats were super duper clean yesterday although i felt staaaaaaaaaarving after yoga no matter how much i ate which is weird because generally after yoga i just want water water water. It was so nice to get back to bikram last night, i am so sore! Its amazing what a little stretching will do to you! I bought a three month pass so i have no excuses for the next three months to not whip myself back into shape!

as for the weekend friday i imagine the bf and i will be watching movies or something lack luster haha he has a stag all day today and then the wedding is on saturday annnnd then we are heading out to the lake i think for the rest of the long weekend. We have Monday off as well.  I know we're BBQing with friends on Sunday and gaming all day Monday.  Saturday is house-cleaning and I imagine most of tomorrow will be spent recoverring from tonight.

I support software for the engineering department of an aerospace organization.  Every 3rd Thursday we deploy fixes and new functionality into the production environment.  We start at 7PM (after the Engineers go home) and it's a 4 to 10 hour process.

Val - Good luck with your long day and nice job on your workout!

Brittani - This is my first official challenge and those were my first terrible measurements. :-( I have talked to a couple people who said they did the challenge once and then they "use some of the principals" of BFL if they start getting big again. My goal would be to hit my target weight and then stay there. Did you find it super difficult to maintain what you had achieved? Or was it easy to fall back into not as good habits? Just wondering what I might be facing ahead.

hmmmm good question owen! I think a lot of things played into it. I started my challenge in April and finished it in June and up until about Dec I had no problem maintaining. I hate saying this because it is so stupid but in early dec my bf of 5 yrs ended things with me and that threw me off my game. Also, i graduated university that dec too so as of dec 15 i started a regular 830-5 office job and the amount of TERRIBLE food here is just unbelievable. Then july 1 i moved out and that just created a huge influx of eating out/eating takeout. I think it was mainly just all the lifestyle changes i went through starting in dec and i never made exercise and healthy eating a priority again and from dec 25, 2008 to dec 25, 2009 i had gained 30lbs. so i mean it wasn't over night by any means but it happened. since then i've gone thru litthe exercising spurts and healthy eating kicks but nothing that stuck.

i think the most important thing is sticking with the new lifestyle you have created and not letting other things get in the way. AND not letting the people around you pull you back into it. like my best friends who live in my building are the most awful eaters and i just went along with it for the longest time which didn't help my cause at all.

Well hello team!  Feels like I have zero time to play these days.   Home today with a sick boy.  He barfed three times before we were going to leave this AM so I called into work and told them I was stuck.  I had a meeting at a design firm so hubby ran home and kept an eye on the boy while I ran and did my thing and flew home to switch out with him again.   Good times.

I am a clean-eating exercising MACHINE!!!  Whew!  Doing three a day's right now for this week.  I think it's hell week.  At least, I hope we're alternating these crazy weeks for a bit... we'll see.  I'm getting up at 5:30 for HIIT runs then do the work thing.  At night I'm doing weights 6 nights a week followed by more cardio.

The bright side - fat is melting, smaller pants ALL fit and some are loose, muslces cropping up in all kinds of places.

Down side.... well, I'm EXHAUSTED early at night.  I get back from the gym around 9 and then do a half hour or so of cardio and then I CRASH.  DH is on his own for movie watching, etc.

It's interesting, my kids are not getting any less of my time with this schedule, it's just DH suffering.  So far he's suffering silently.  He makes fun of what I can't eat and what I have to do but he's very supportive.  He's the one waking me up at 5:30 (alarm on his side of the bed) and he's making sure he's back from cycling early enough that I can get to the gym to do my weights workouts.  He's been awesome.  And honestly, I figured that he'd be the biggest oponent to my little adventure so I am over the moon happy about it.

Going to take pics today for the holiday hotties thread.  Might as well seeing as I'm working towards that Halloween goal ANYWAYS.   Comp is Oct 30th.  Eek!  Another one the following week on Nov 6th that I might do too.  What the heck, right?

All that and I forgot personals... hahaha!

Owen, glad you started the thread!  Yes, the measurements and photos are humbling BUT also very motivating.  I gained back some fat for sure as my situation changed and I just didn't have access to weights anymore.  I still did cardio fairly regularly and that's the only reason in the world I didn't have to go back to wearing my 'fat pants'...  Still ate more or less BFL but way more relaxed.  When I buckle down and go for it, amazing things happen.  It's very easy to become complacent though.  By remaining on Tracker, fitness and health were always at the forefront on my mind and it kept me more accountable than if I had NOT.

Val, no issues with you starting the thread at all!  This is often a very quiet time on Tracker as kiddies are back to school, summer holidays are finishing up, etc.  Lots going on for everyone and not a lot of time to play.

Brittani, so glad you got back into your beloved yoga classes!  They are expensive for sure but think of how fast that money could go on crap that you don't need.  Might as well spend it on your physical and mental health instead.

Ok, going to go eat something - later skaters!

Heidi I totally hear you on the sleep thing.  We're getting up at 5AM for our workouts, which means by the time I get home and help make and then eat dinner, I have about an hour to spend with my wife and dog before bed-time.  And we're both still totally zonked all the time now.

DW says as soon as this first challenge is over she's not getting up at that hour anymore, but I plan to keep going.

Great job on keeping up the discipline!
